This coop is ok for a couple chickens. If you have extra room for them to roam then you could have more use it. The materials are not high quality,but work fine for a coop. Mine came with scratches and a few dents,but was easy to assemble. I had it together in less than an hour with a screwdriver. We bought our first hen and she laid an egg in the nesting box within hours of entering the coop...so she's happy with the coop.

I bought this as a home for my first-ever hens. I put it together myself in about 40 minutes with a single rechargeable screwdriver. I was immediately impressed by how easy the instructions were and the fact that everything fit/lined up. I've assembled my share of children's toys and [...] furniture and this rates as one of the easiest projects EVER. The coop is absolutely adorable... even my Mom loves it and she was very iffy about it when I told her I was planning to get hens because of "what the neighbors would think about a chicken coop in the yard". This one's as cute as a doll house, and functional too! I have 3 large Black Star hens living in it comfortably. More would be crowded, I think... but my girls are BIG... probably 7 lbs or so! They started laying the very first day of move- in and are quite happy with their place!A couple of things to note: I bought some locks for the 2 doors, and a safety hook for the nesting box, to keep critters out. This didn't feel optional, as the cute little heart enclosures would not keep out a curious raccoon! Also, the product list states that the roosting bar is not included... but it is! You do not need to order the extra nesting box. It doesnt fit ( I ordered one b/c I thought I needed it) and its redundant, even if it did fit. There are 2 nice boxes in the coop itself. Last but not least, I'm a little concerned about the cold winters we get here in Mass and I'm thinking about making some space in my garage. This coop's great for now but not sure how comfy it would be in the dead of winter... the wood is quite thin. If anyone's wintered through with it, I'd be interested to read your comments!Love this coop!!

[...]My 25-year old son and I put it together in the morning in plenty of times to house our four 20-wk. old pullets. Assembly went smoothly, screw holes were lined up well [...]The girls moved in easily. The roosting bar, which we didn't expect to be included, seemed snug for 4 gals, so we added a chunky branch that had fallen from our trees. No complaints so far.You definitely need to add three better latches to keep out predators. We've decided rather than screwing on the roof, to instead hinge the roof pieces to the coop's sides to open up the coop for easy cleaning.This coop is adorable and just the right size for our new additions. We didn't let them out of the pen for the first night and they seemed to have adequate room to move around.This is a great price for an all-in-one coop with nest boxes, small pen area and roosting area.
